Education Allowance - Are you entitled?
Local AM Lorraine Barrett is urging students in Trowbridge and St Mellons to check whether they're entitled to a new education allowance.16 year olds entering further education may be entitled to a weekly allowance - called the Education Maintenance Allowance - of between £10 and £30 a week. It is available on a means-tested basis to students in households with an income of up to £30,000.Pupils can get more information by asking for a form at their college or school or by calling the Education Maintenance Allowance helpline on: 0808 10 16 219.
