Unhelpful Rumours
An unhelpful rumour has been circulating again in Trowbridge over the summer. Councillors have been blamed for the closure of the "play pod" in Trefaser Park.
The truth is that I asked whether play-workers from the St. Mellons Healthy Living Centre could run a "play pod" in Trowbridge.
Eventually funding was obtained for a "trial" pod for the year from March 2003. The life of the project was then extended to the end of September 2004. Sadly unwanted and criminal attention from local youths and staffing issues led to the decision to close the pod at the end of August.
Regretably no more funding is available (we will continue to search for further grant aid) and therefore, the pod has had to be closed. We are as disappointed about this as everyone else.
