TROWBRIDGE SHOPPING CENTRE

It has taken a great deal of effort and time but we are getting closer to building the new shops in Trowbridge.
Draft plans of the Trowbridge Shopping Centre Redevelopment were viewed by residents in July.
The "project steering group" which includes your Councillors, Council officers, and the Cardiff Community Housing Association, meet in September to consider resident’s views and finalise the planning application to will enable the development to proceed.
The final planning application will be submitted to Cardiff Council’s Planning Committee before Christmas. Redevelopment will be phased with demolition of part of the centre later this year or early next year.
A new row of shops on Abergele Road will be built first. After these are completed the rest of the shopping centre will be demolished and work begun on building houses and flats on the remainder of the site.
The new Community Centre will then be built. The whole project should be completed by the end of 2007.
Councillor David English
